My passion for gardening was ignited in childhood, helping my grandmother and mother, both knowledgeable and devoted gardeners. When I was thirteen, I installed my own first garden, a large “potager” garden in Santa Cruz, that fed a family of ten.
In the ensuing thirty-five years, my residential and commercial professional garden work has included projects from Northern California to Colorado, New York and France.
I use sustainable garden practices, including organic fertilizers, non-toxic solutions for weed and pest control, coupled with efficient irrigation systems to conserve water and promote environmental health. My garden design principles are guided by striking a balance between practicality, beauty, utility, and enjoyment.
Special areas of expertise include tastefully combining edible and ornamental plants, as well as using native plants. I am based in the San Francisco Bay Area and welcome projects of any size.
